Staff Biographies
The ministry of Wisconsin Lutheran High School is filled with a wonderful mix of seasoned veterans and enthusiastic youngsters. The Math Department is no exception, with over 125 years of math education under their belts, and a tremendous variety of teaching backgrounds. Each bio includes an e-mail link for the teacher.
Brian Gottschalk (B.S., DPI Certification Concordia College, 2000)
Brian, a 1996 WISCO grad, is entering his 8th year of teaching, all here at Wisconsin Lutheran. He is married to wife Erica. The two operate Gottcha Productions, a videography service specializing in weddings. Brian is the Math Department Coordinator. He teaches AP Calculus AB and Pre-Calculus. He is also an assistant football coach, the head Boys' track coach, and the advisor to the Strength and Speed Club.
Tim Thierfelder (B.L.A. Northwestern College, 1984; B.E. University of Wisconsin, 1989; M.S. University of Wisconsin, 1995)
Tim is entering his 19th year of teaching, all here at Wisconsin Lutheran. He enjoys learning new technologies, traveling, and running. He teaches Advanced Algebra, Advanced Algebra A, Pre-Calculus A, and Statistics. He is also the Advisor and Director of the Math Track Team and the Technology Design Team.
Blair Schaper (B.S, M.S. Dr. Martin Luther College, 1985)
Blair is entering his 6th year at WISCO, and his 23rd year of teaching. He previously taught for 17 years at Star of Bethlehem in New Berlin. Blair is an avid photographer and collector of sports memorabilia. He teaches Geometry, Geometry A, and Algebra. He is also the head girls' cross country coach, the track coordinator, and a Class of 2009 advisor.
Bradley Wetzel ( B.S. Martin Luther College , 2003)
Brad, a 1999 WISCO grad, is in his 2nd year here and his 5th year of teaching. He was previously principal and 7th & 8th grade teacher at St. Andrew Lutheran School in Chicago , IL . He is married to wife Megan, and has two sons: Blake and Braxten. Brad teaches Algebra II, Advanced Algebra, and Trigonometry, and he also coaches football and track.
Darrell Roecker (B.S. Dr. Martin Luther College, 1990)
Darrell is in his 4th year at WISCO, and his 18th year of teaching. Previous teaching experiences include stints at Salem Lutheran School, Owesse, MI; Atonement, Milwaukee, WI; and Trinity, Waukesha, WI. He is married to wife Tami, and hs three sons: Jacob, Tyler, and Lucas. Darrell teaches Introduction to Algebra, Math Skills for Life, and Algebra Concepts. Darrell also serves as the head wrestling coach and an assistant football coach.
Jenny Hennen (B.S., DPI Certification Wisconsin Lutheran College, 2002)
Jenny, a 1998 WISCO grad, is in her 6th year of teaching, all at WISCO. She is married to husband Joe, and has two sons. In her free time she enjoys running and spending time in nature. She currently teaches part-time in the areas of Algebra 1 and Geometry.
Kurt Seeger (B.S. Dr. Martin Luther College, 1977; M.S. Computer Education)
Kurt is in his 15th year at WISCO, and his 32rd year of teaching. Previous teaching has taken him to Morton Grove, IL and Milwaukee. He is married to wife Patty, and has 2 children: Josh and Kristin. He teaches Algebra 1A. Kurt is the Technology Coordinator here, and he also coaches boys basketball.
Hannah Reinke (B.A. Carthage College, 2000; M.S., UW-Milwaukee, 2002)
Hannah, a 1996 WISCO grad, is branching out from her main specialty area, school counseling, to teach one section of Algebra 1 this year. She is in her 5th year at Wisconsin Lutheran. She also coordinates the Prevention & Wellness Team, a group of students who are trained to share a drug-free message with conference grade schools.
